If I hadn't panned with him I would have never got this shot. I like that his wings are blurry but his head is sharp. One of my favorite shots. I had been photographing otters all day. When we arrived at my friends father's home I got out of the car and saw this tree. The light was fading and I had my 400mm lens on my camera. I grabbed it and took this photo. Then I switched to a wider lens and took another couple of shots before the light was too low to shoot. I liked this one the best and it's the only shot I have on that lens.
This from my trip to the Khutzeymateen Grizzle Bear Sanctuary. I wasn't looking forward to living on a sailboat, and shooting from a Kodiak boat. I couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. The sailboat was great and our Kodiak Captain was AMAZING! He drove right up to the bears. This was one of the more serene moments
